Toffeelinks 13/6/11 - Ba to snub Blues, Elm and Eagles linked, Rodwell interest grows

Growing interest: Another club is now apparently interested in Rodwell.

Hello and welcome to another week of 'Everton-linked-with-everyone-sign-no-one'.

Yes, I'm that cynical already and it is only June!  More links and transfer tittle-tattle after the jump.

Confusion reigns over Everton's Shane Long deal

Long: Not Goodison bound after all? (Photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images)

The Premier League transfer merry-go-round moved up a gear on Wednesday as the big guns splashed their cash on young English (and many say over-priced) players.

For Everton it has largely been about players leaving, with Joseph Yobo and Yakubu set to follow James Vaughan out of the exit door. Yakubu has been linked with a return to Leicester in today's press, with a potential move to Turkey having broken down. Yobo's move to Turkey rests on negotiations between the club and Fenerbahce.

Toffeelinks 8/6/11 - Another United player linked with Everton, defender set to return

Welbeck & Howard - teammates next season? (Photo by Michael Regan/Getty Images)

Hello and welcome to another day of media driven transfer hysteria. Actually, I say media driven but Liverpool aren't helping by spending £13million on Jordan Henderson - and how did they persuade Steve Bruce that David N'Gog was worth £7million?! Fair play to them on that one.

Anyway back to the penniless Blues and the latest rumours doing the rounds:

The Metro: Everton face tug-of-war with Sunderland for Danny Welbeck

The United striker spent last season on loan at the Stadium Of Light and reports suggest Sir Alex Ferguson is set to allow him to go out on loan again this season.

Toffeelinks 3/6/11 - Everton Close in On Klose? In talks with Demba Ba?

Is Klose on his way to the Premier League?

The increasingly blurred lines between season, close-season and pre-season means the rumour mill is already in full swing (with no World Cup this year I guess the papers have to talk about something!). Everton aren't alone in being muttered about in the local and national press, so here is the latest Toffee related gossip.

ToffeeLinks 01/06/2011: Premature rumors refuted

Photo

I hate transfer rumors. I don't know why I'm still covering them really. This is why I hate rumors...

Everton FC unlikely to move for Jay Bothroyd or Joey Barton this summer - Liverpool Echo
EVERTON will not be chasing summer deals for out of contract Cardiff striker Jay Bothroyd or Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton despite frequent reports to the contrary.

- Weren't these considered close to done deals. Ugh I hate rumors. What a waste of time.

Shane Long will be Premier League player - Marco Tardelli | Mail Online
Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long has been reassured he will be a Barclays Premier League player next season, despite Reading's heart-breaking play-off final defeat.

- And I hope to god it's for Everton. I have been keeping tabs on him all of last season just because he was so phenomenal without even thinking of him as a potential transfer target. I seriously think he can be a really good player in the EPL.

This isn't a rumor, this actually happened:

Everton release trio | Everton News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports
Everton have released Iain Turner, Hope Akpan and Kieran Agard after their contracts expired.
