Everton v Blackpool: Live GameThread (FA Cup)
I am not going to continue the Bizarro series because this is the FA Cup and it is an altogether different monster than the normal Premier League (which kind of makes it perfect for Bizarro world if you think about it).
But on to Blackpool. They were by far the most exciting club to watch last season, and are also the most exciting club in the Championship this season.
Hopefully, this will open up our attacking and we just don't sit back without the likes of Pienaar, Jelavic, and possibly Donovan.
Counter-attacking is key in this match mainly because Blackpool tend to leave themselves exposed while consistently attacking with everyone on the pitch. We need to adapt and actually push forward rather than wait for everyone to set back up on defense.
This is key. As is putting the ball in the back of their net. Hopefully, we can do this important thing that people call "scoring goals". Yes, it's a foreign phrase to me as well.

Everton v Chelsea: Live DaerhtEmag (Bizarro Edition)
After countless hours (or minutes) of trying to figure out how to give an example of all the absurdity that surrounds Everton, I could come up with only one plausible example. Bizarro and his world, Htrea.
If you don't know about Bizarro, you can look him up here. The fact of the matter is, everything Everton does turns out to be the exact opposite of what any sane club would do. All our results should be different when you compare clubs in similar positions. We are just a bizarre club.
I will go through the specific similarities and overall weirdness between Everton and Bizarro in a feature later on this month, but for now I will try to use this theory to explain the Everton Chelsea match.
We will lose (or draw?). Well, you may say that this is a normal prediction right?
Ah contraire mon fraire. Everton usually overachieve against top tier teams. We also usually catch these teams by surprise. But what happened recently is that we are going on this weird unbeaten streak (I still refuse to believe this is happening due to all the outrage by the fans) so teams are actually not taking us for granted. This reverses the whole overachieve theory because our opponent thinks of us as a worthy adversary which in return makes us underachieve.
BIZARRO, right?

Wigan Athletic v Everton:Live GameThread
Ahhhh. The much dreaded match where everyone's hopes are super high, and we play a basement dwelling club and then lose (or draw) and we cry.
I won't expand more on this thought just because it will get too depressing (when everyone else is highly hopeful for the future) and people will get mad at me.

Everton v Manchester City: Live GameThread (+ TransferThread)
Weird stuff going on in the Everton world right now. There are actually many rumors surrounding us. Everton have agreed to terms for Nikica Jelavic (even though the move isn't official). Louis Saha also seems to have possibly moved to the Spurs on an 18-month deal. There are also many other moves (Steven Pienaar, Adam Johnson, etc.) that seem to have at least some legs on them. The weird part of this whole day is that the rest of the EPL has been relatively quiet. This makes me feel like I'm living on the Htrae (Bizarro Earth, for those who do not know).
Before all these rumors were swirling around, I had little hope for us claiming three points today against Manchester City, but now, all of a sudden, I have all this irrational optimism. This should make Goodison Park much louder. The last year has been an odd mix of nervousness and halfhearted cheers.

Everton v Fulham: Live FA Cup GameThread
Cross your fingers that Dempsey doesn't score another hat trick. Cross your fingers that we can actually score more than one goal.
Our home form is woeful, and Fulham's away form is woeful. Something has to give and I'm not really sure what (It's going to be us). Let's just hope the match is at least entertaining and not completely lacking in firepower.

Everton v Blackburn: Live GameThread
I don't even know what to say in these gamethreads anymore. It's the same situation every week and it is honestly making me very restless as a fan. We don't win any of the games we should.
This is a match we should win, but we probably won't. Knowing our luck, Yakubu will probably have a hat trick and destroy my soul in the process (Yakubu is suspended, which I forgot). I have conceded this much, so I'll just stop my whining and get on to more happy things...our injury report.
We have a lot of players still recovering from injuries. That list includes Jagielka, Osman, Rodwell, Hibbert, Coleman, Distin, and Barkley were all out last week and will probably be out this week. This, as you all probably have noticed, makes out squad very thin and makes our back line very vulnerable. If anyone gets injured, we pretty much have no one replace them
So let's all pray.
Match lineups will be up closer to match time.

Aston Villa v Everton: Live Gamethread
Two struggling teams clash at Villa Park but both have new signings in their squad. Robbie Keane has swapped LA for Birmingham for six week (who knows why!?) but has to be content with a place on the bench. For Everton Darron Gibson starts, as does Drenthe (at last) and youngster Shane Duffy - his first Premier League start.
Everton have not beaten Villa in their last 12 atttempts, they badly need that stat to change today if they are to keep themselves in mid-table and away from any bother at the bottom.
Aston Villa: Given, Hutton, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Clark, Petrov, Albrighton, Ireland, Agbonlahor, Bent
Subs: Guzan, N'Zogbia, Delph, Keane, Cuellar, Bannan, Gardner
Everton: Howard, Neville, Heitinga, Duffy, Baines, Donovan, Gibson, Fellaini, Drenthe, Cahill, Saha
Subs: Mucha, Anichebe, Bilyaletdinov, Stracqualursi, McFadden, Gueye, Vellios
Referee: Mark Clattenburg (Tyne & Wear)

Everton v Tamworth: Live Gamethread
Ahh, the magic of the FA Cup. The third round weekend is one of the most memorable in the football calendar, with Premier League giants nervously trying to avoid upsets to lower league opposition.
The magic of the Cup will be on show at Goodison, where non-league Tamworth bid to become the first side from outside the football league to knock Everton out of the FA Cup since 1912.
Optimism and hope will be high among the visitors but conspicuous by its absence among the Toffees. The defeat to Bolton ruined any fragile New Year's confidence built up over their four game unbeaten run. Injuries to key players - including a six week lay-off for Phil Jagielka - made things feel even worse.
Anyways.....
A good result today with some goals to boot may help us all feel a bit better. I dread to think what will happen if we lose!
I will have to two teams as soon as I have them - Feel free to comment below!
