Monday rant - QPR: Who do you think you are?
Having attended every home game since around the age of five, and since the age of twelve only missed a handful of away matches here and abroad, I feel that I can write this piece with some justification given the recent announcement by Everton that they have made the decision to take a reduced allocation of tickets for our fans for our next fixture at Loftus Road on March 3rd.
ToffeeTunes: Go With The Flow
I know we should be happy right now, but I just can't pull myself to completely be happy with our form. Everton did just draw with Wigan a couple of matches ago after all. I actually have a lot of songs for when things turn sour at the club (because I expect it). But for now, I can just go with the flow of things.
Lyrics and analysis after the jump.
Brave New Mediocre World
Did anybody recognize the Everton team that took the field on Saturday? This wasn’t the team that somehow squeaked out three points against Manchester City, and it certainly wasn’t the team that somehow only took one point away from Wigan. The Everton team that took the field on Saturday, was demonstrably better than their Chelsea opponents. After watching that performance it’s hard to avoid asking the question, exactly how good are the Toffees. But avoid that question I will, because the more interesting question, and probably one that we should have been asking before the match, is how good is Chelsea? And, even more importantly why do we persist in thinking that some teams are better than they actually are?

Monday Rant - Darron Gibson
In a bit of a new feature on RBM, I will be penning my thoughts on anything Everton related (or not as the cases arise) which sparks debate, offers insight and opinion and, most importantly, invites you to respond. No rights or wrongs, just my opinion weighed up against your own.
The topic of my first rant is January capture Darron Gibson.
ToffeeTunes: We're a Lonely Group
Well I’m so above you
And it’s plain to see
But I came to love you anyway
So you tore my heart out
And I don’t mind bleeding
Any old time to keep me waiting
Waiting, waitingOh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
I’m a lonely boy
I’m a lonely boy
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waitingWell your mama kept you but your daddy left you
And I should’ve done you just the same
But I came to love you
And I want to flee
Any old time you keep me waiting
Waiting, waiting
This is how, I'm sure, most of you feel constantly about our beloved club. It's a love that keeps us waiting...

You Can't Fight the System
Everton fans are a crazy lot. Once again the club goes out and gets a new striker. Once again everybody gets excited that maybe David Moyes will run out two true strikers for once. And once again the manager will disappoint everybody and only let one of his forwards out onto the field. Moyes has imprinted his system on Everton, and much like death and taxes, one of the few certainties in life is that after a manager institutes a system he isn’t going to deviate from it.
An Ode to Manager David Moyes
After the most, breathless and eventful week of the season so far for Everton, Toffees supporters are in a understandably good mood. This is reflected in the first blog from another one of our new writers - Mike Goodman - who has written a tribute to the efforts of our manager, a certain Mr David Moyes.
Enjoy!
It is a very very good week to be David Moyes. From tactics to transfers it seems that this week no matter what he does, Everton’s manager cannot put a foot wrong.
It must be a pleasant change for the man, who has spent the last few years presiding over a club that it’s been very hard to get excited about. Above him he has ownership that has handcuffed his personnel decisions, and around him he has fans demanding a better brand of football.
But, Moyes stoically persevering through it all has managed to do the unthinkable. He has given fans a ray of hope. It’s surprising for sure, but should it be? Looking at some numbers it actually seems that Moyes, despite some of his faults, is one of the best managers in the game.
