The season may well be over but our need to satisfy our football fix goes on. So before we all get distracted with the Euros, how about some transfer rumours to get you interested? Or maybe a round up of all things Everton over the past week
The 21-year-old scored 11 goals in just 10 games for Norwegian club Lillestrom this season and while you expect him to pick a Premier League side ahead of Championship-bound Wolves, our lack of finances may mean this deal is dead before it is even started.
Strange one this. The Daily Mirror is reporting that Saudi side Al Nassr want Tim Cahill to help boost their profile, with any money recieved by Everton going towards the 'sign Steven Pienaar' fund.
More guff from the Mirror, Everton are apparently ready to snap up the former Chelsea man, who is stalling on a new three-year deal at Stoke as it does not include a pay-rise. The article also says Huth could replace Sylvain Distin, who they claim is set to leave. I cannot see that myself, given all the noises suggest Distin is happy to stay put.
The incorrect assertion that Leighton Baines suffers from homesickness reportedly cost him his place in England's doomed 2010 World Cup squad. So, after being named in Roy Hodgson's party for Euro 2012, the full-back is determined to prove people wrong. Fellow Toffee Phil Jagielka is only named as a reserve, with John Terry, Gary Cahill, Phil Jones and Joleon Lescott named ahead of him.
Everton have released six players, including James McFadden and Marcus Hahnemann, after their contracts came to an end. Steven Pienaar, Royston Drenthe and Denis Stracqualursiwill also leave after their loan deals came to an end, though we all hope Pienaar will make a return.
Everton hope to tie up a deal sooner rather than later in order to secure early funds that could be put towards, er, yeah you guessed it, signing Pienaar. The article also states that Everton's new Nike kit should be unveiled before the end of the month.
