Everton's 2011/12 Fixtures released
Thanks to strict legal requirements I can't list Everton's fixtures for the new 2011/12 season, but I can tell you the highlights, starting with our opening clash away at Spurs on August 13.
The excitement and anticipation starts here!
Our first home game of the season will be against newly promoted Q.P.R. a week later, with the month rounded off with a trip to Ewood Park to play Blackburn.
October looks a tricky month on paper, with the first Merseyside derby of the season at Goodison, games against Chelsea and Man United as well as a trip to Fulham.
The festive period sees the Toffees travel to Sunderland on Boxing day and West Brom a few days later with a home game against Bolton on January 2nd to see in the New Year.
The second Merseyside derby falls at the end of February and a first Premier League match in Wales against Swansea takes place at the end of March.
Run-in wise it doesn't seem that bad. Man United lurk in the fourth-to-last fixture but games against Fulham, Wolves and Newcastle is quite a nice finish. In fact only two of our last 10 games are against sides who finished above us last season.
To see the fixtures in full check out the official Everton website here. If you have any comments of thoughts then please leave them below.

It looks like the schedule-makers are encouraging another typical Everton performance. Travel to Spurs and Man City in August and September followed by a brutal October. The last nine matches of the season all look very winnable besides a trip to Old Trafford. Even if Everton manages a consistent performance throughout the season, they’ll probably win fewer games at the beginning of the season and finish strong just based on the strength of their opponents.
Just eight weeks from tomorrow!
Ha good point!
I can see us eyeing up those last ten games with increasing desperation as the season wears on, hoping the players dig themselves out the hole they will inevitably find themselves in come Christmas!!
We’re a pessimistic bunch!
We have a chance to take 12-15 points from those first five matches
Of course, knowing us, we’ll probably fall on our faces out of the gate. But really, we need to take at least 10 points from those first five because the next five games are absolutely brutal (Man City A, Liverpool H, Chelsea A, Fulham A, Man Utd H).
