Ok, ok it's 24 hours late - I'm blaming the public holiday we had yesterday in the Uk!
Anyway, here is the latest slice of Everton related internet goodness, with some other tasty bits thrown in.
Liverpool Daily Post: Everton weigh-up Jay Bothroyd deal
Hardly breaking news but the fact it has made the local press suggests this story has some legs. It isn't really one to get the pulses racing either but if he comes in a replacement for James Vaughan, with a £2.5million profit in the process, then I think that represents good business.
Liverpool Echo: Yakubu wage demands could scupper Leicester deal
The Nigerian has stated how he would like to stay with the Foxes - but only at a price obviously! The Yak's £35,000 a week wages could force Leicester to look elsewhere, which presents us with a problem as we are desperate to get him off the wage bill.
Metro: Craig Mackail-Smith 'to ignite bidding war between QPR, Everton and Wigan'
Peterborough striker Craig-Mackail Smith is the latest man to be linked with the Blues. He looked tidy in the play-off final win over Huddersfield and he did grab 35 goals last season. But like we found with jermaine Beckford, the jump from league one to Premier League is a large one and I don't think we have room for another forward who needs time to settle.
Liverpool Echo: The appointment that changed the history of Everton FC
Liverpool Echo: Thirty years ago today Howard Kendall was appointed manager of Everton, changing the history of the club in the process. This piece in the Echo looks back at the glorious era that began with Kendall's appointment.
The best of the rest:
The Guardian: Crisis? What crisis?
Words that will surely go down in history. Sepp Blatter denies anything wrong with FIFA despite nearly half of the executive committee being linked with alleged bribery and corruption.
The Guardian: Paul Scholes retires
One of the finest players of his generation and one of my favourite non-Everton players, Paul Scholes, has announced his retirement from football. A huge gap is now left in the United midfield and one they will struggle to ever properly replace.

7500 To Holte: Gerard Houllier leaves Aston Villa
Perhaps not a surprise, but it is worth keeping tabs on SBNation's Aston Villa blog 7500 To Holte for all the latest as our very own David Moyes is a name strongly linked with the now vacant manager's job at Villa Park.
