Aston Villa v Everton: Live GameThread
Looks like all our prayers have been answered and Rodwell will start this week. Phil Neville is still out for this match. Heitinga has been dropped to the bench (for Rodwell, after some mediocre performances).
And everyone should be of jealous of Tom, because he is at this match in Villa Park. Lucky B@$!@^%
As usual, comment below!
Everton Starting XI: Howard, Hibbert, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Arteta, Cahill, Pienaar, Fellaini, Rodwell, Beckford
Aston Villa Starting XI: Friedel, L. Young, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, A. Young, Petrov, Ireland, Downing, Albrighton, Carew

Looks like were all at about the same place
Shouldn’t be too bad unless someones actually watching on TV. Then they would be 2-3 minutes ahead.
Yea we are even then.

Since the match hasn't started yet...
spectacular matches in the Bundesliga this weekend. It started on Friday when my beloved Bayern lost 0-2 at Kaiserslautern. Yesterday, McClaren’s Wolfsburg lost 3-4 at home against Mainz despite a 3-0 lead after 30 minutes. And right now it’s Leverkusen v Gladbach, after about 70 minutes Gladbach leads 6-3.
Fridel's goalie jersey is ugly
So take that Aston Villa

Decent free kick
FSC is funny, though. An ad on the bottom offers ‘official’ CL stuff and shows us a LFC shirt.
Piennar off the post.

sigh
Why do I keep thinking that every week will be our week. Pienaar and Fellaini offered glimmers of hope. You have to imagine that a Louis Saha sighting is close. Beckford looks lost out there
It's a grand old team to play for, it's a grand old team to support!
Beckford needs another striker out there to prosper. If we only throw one up top, then we should put Saha in.
I completely agree with that
We need Saha or an in form Yakubu up top to hold up the ball while Beckford makes runs.
It's a grand old team to play for, it's a grand old team to support!
great success

Don't ask me why but I'd like to see Gueye out there for the 2nd.
And someone has to take care of that Albrighton guy, he’s the MOTM so far IMO.
hahaha that is a little crazy,
but he looked really good in the carling cup. Still, I don’t know if thats the answer, we need scores
Comment from ESPN's Match thread
“Everton will be wondering how they’re not winning this game, let alone losing it. Moyes’ men have dominated possession, although Brad Friedel has been largely untroubled”

ugh... get Billy and Sahahahahaha in this game
It's a grand old team to play for, it's a grand old team to support!
It'd be OK if we got a shot off once in a while
but we give up possession too much after all those passes
sometimes I think that Everton thinks that passing and not scoring is alright
It's a grand old team to play for, it's a grand old team to support!
Distin pushing up gets me real nervous
cause his pass following it is always intercepted and theres almost always a counterattack
TIMMY!!

Just got my feed back.
Looks like we had a couple of good opportunities.

This is the most frustrating team ever
Not getting a goal from that match was criminal.

This the life of an Everton fan.
I took my Blackberry to church to follow up on the match, and set next to my good friend who’s a Villa man. I checked the Blackberry after the 9th minute goal and just put it away and didn’t check again until after the service was over. My friend obviously caught on, because he leaned over and said, “We got the early strike, eh.? That’s ok, you’ll score the equalizer in stoppage time.”
It’s funny because it very nearly happened, but no… it’s just our usual early season curse.
