Everton vs Stoke Gamethread

COYB!

Everton:

Howard; Neville - Jagielka - Distin - Baines; Coleman - Arteta - Heitinga - Pienaar - Cahill; Yakubu

Stoke:

Begovic; Huth - Shawcross - Faye - Collins; Walters - Whitehead - Wilson - Etherington; Tuncay - Jones

There need to be 75 words...

It's a grand old team to play for,
It's a grand old team to support,
And if you know your history,
It's enough to make your heart go Whooah,

We don't care what the red shit say
What the fuck do we care,
Because we only know that there's going to be a show,
When the Everton boys are there.

What a divey bitch that goaltender is. I saw no contact.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 3:13 PM BST reply actions

What happened? Must have happened while I was creating this.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 3:16 PM BST up reply actions

Stoke keeper dove on the ball and sort of bobbled it. Coleman came in after the ball and the keeper started writhing on the ground like he had been kicked in the head. Coleman nicked his arm if he made contact at all.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 3:18 PM BST up reply actions

Wow, he’s a great actor. Really embellished that Yak contact right there.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 3:20 PM BST up reply actions

Well done by Yak but the finish was weak.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 3:14 PM BST reply actions

ok sweet

watching rangersat the same time

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 3:18 PM BST reply actions

wtf

what was that call

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 3:19 PM BST reply actions

Is it me or does this look like the old, winless Everton?

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 3:32 PM BST reply actions

I was just thinking how much better they look today than they did earlier in the season. They haven’t converted any chances, but they aren’t giving up chances like they were earlier.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 3:34 PM BST up reply actions

What's Saha's status for today?

If he’s healthy, he should be on early in the second half. They need someone to finish the chances they’re getting.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 3:41 PM BST reply actions

saha

im thinking the same thing

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 3:42 PM BST reply actions

The second half starts with a promising free kick.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:04 PM BST reply actions

So close…it’s time to score a goal.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:14 PM BST reply actions

yeah

someone needs to pull thru

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:15 PM BST reply actions

well

the crowd finally seems to be in it

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:16 PM BST reply actions

Everton gets called for being raped in the box?

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:17 PM BST reply actions

What was Baines doing there? Lucky.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:17 PM BST reply actions

Ok, I guess the ref is just randomly blowing his whistle at this point.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:18 PM BST reply actions

yes saha coming on

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:19 PM BST reply actions

I was just about to call for Saha. Good thinking, Moyes.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:19 PM BST reply actions

Hahahahaha Wolverhampton 2-1 Man City

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:20 PM BST reply actions

That’s a penalty, no doubt.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:24 PM BST reply actions

yessssssssssssssssssssssssssss

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:25 PM BST reply actions

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:25 PM BST reply actions

YAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKUUUUUUBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:25 PM BST reply actions

hopefully this is the start of more from him

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:26 PM BST reply actions

He’s looked great recently but couldn’t score. I’m glad we didn’t sell him.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:27 PM BST up reply actions

I want more goals. It’s too early to sit back.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:28 PM BST reply actions

yeah i dont see how we would be happy with just one

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:29 PM BST reply actions

Too close for comfort there.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:39 PM BST reply actions

Way way way to close.

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:41 PM BST reply actions

Blackburn juuust missed an open goal that would have put them up 2-1 on Chelsea.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:41 PM BST reply actions

And Chelsea comes right back and scores to go up 2-1. Boo.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:43 PM BST up reply actions

Although I guess passing Blackburn is a more realistic goal than passing Chelsea. I just hate Chelsea.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:44 PM BST up reply actions

I wish they would score already they have been pushing Chelsea the entire game.

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:42 PM BST reply actions

City, Chelsea, Arsenal all losing points, we have to win this one.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:43 PM BST reply actions

And Chelsea scored

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:44 PM BST reply actions

Everton’s players are getting mugged with no calls, but if they look at a Stoke player the wrong way…

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:46 PM BST up reply actions

This refereeing display is a load of crap.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:47 PM BST reply actions

What’s the stoppage time? I missed it.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:50 PM BST reply actions

Faye was down for a while after that collision with Cahill. I assume that’s where most of it came from?

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:53 PM BST up reply actions

Probably but besides that there wasn’t much happening.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:54 PM BST up reply actions

Not the prettiest 3 points, but I’ll take it!

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:53 PM BST reply actions

3 POINTS! Those are the matches that have to be won.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:53 PM BST reply actions

Chelsea 2-1 over Blackburn. Final.

by mattjg on Oct 30, 2010 4:54 PM BST reply actions

Arsenal scored in the 88th minute. But City lost, so did Wigan against Fulham.

by StiflersMom on Oct 30, 2010 4:55 PM BST up reply actions

Ok so we should be in the top half now.

by mernst2 on Oct 30, 2010 4:56 PM BST reply actions

Seventh in the table. Prime position to qualify for Europe.
